Manage your stress effectively to prevent heart disease
Stress management is one of the five major focuses besides weight control, smoking, diet and exercise, to prevent heart disease.
Avoiding heart disease in many cases means avoiding undue stress. Some doctors believe there is a “coronary personality”: the ambitious, aggressive type who find it hard to relax. You should make a conscious effort to put aside an hour every day for stress relief. It can be done by a formal technique such as yoga or meditation; by resting your feet up in front of the television; or by taking up some hobbies or engaging in some stress management activities. And if you find yourself burdened with stress, don’t bottle them up; reduce the stress by sharing your worries with someone else - even letting off steam can do you good.
